Brian Dillon

Drums

Brian Dillon, 6th generation Native of Colorado, started drumming when he was 13. He, along with the Jon Parker Trio, was invited to record his first album at the Jazz Radio Station (KUVO 89.3) in Denver, one day before he turned 16. He led the drum line in the marching band at Cherry Creek High School where he studied rudiments and played with the big band. Brian received a percussion scholarship but decided to continue playing in the Colorado scene. After moving to Kaua'i for a year with his brother, songwriter Todd Dillon, he returned to Colorado and became a freelance drummer in the Denver/Boulder area. Brian was runner-up for one of the largest drummer contests in the world, has been recognized in Modern Drummer Magazine for outstanding drumming, and studied with master drummer Dave Weckl at his home in 2003. He has had the pleasure of working with such musicians as: Bijoux Barbosa, Kirwin Brown, Stuart Davis, Bill Mckay, Chris Wright, Jeff Jenkins, Granpa Buster, Djate and producer Michael Verdick (Steel Pulse, Eagles, Madonna, etc.) just to name a few. Brian feels that drumming is "the science of time, and that time is the most valuable thing in my life, mainly because I don't know how much I've got".
